It is the responsibility of the instructor to make sure they meet renewal criteria and complete their renewal procedures before the expiration date of their certification card. If the certification is allowed to expire there is no “grace period” and the instructor will be required to take the full initial instructor training program again to regain status.

The current AHA requirements to renew each discipline are as follows:

  • Alignment with CPR School House in good standing
  • 4 Completed classes in the related discipline within the past 2 years
  • Completion of all required training updates
  • Successful completion of course monitoring

Our new monitoring program is in place and we have options for you to complete the monitoring remotely during one of your own classes or in-person at your own class or one of our public classes.  Course monitoring can be done at any time within 6 months of your renewal.

The procedure to renew your instructor certification will be as follows:

  • Click the link below to begin the process
    • A renewal paperwork packet will be sent via email for you to complete and send back.
    • One of our faculty members will contact you to discuss scheduling.

  • The base renewal fee of $140.00 will be collected when you register. Once your monitoring method has been confirmed we will invoice you for the difference (if any).
    • The renewal fee will be based on the monitoring you choose.
    • $140.00 for monitoring at our location
    • $190.00 for remote monitoring via zoom
  • Upon successful completion of the monitoring and renewal packet, you will receive new Instructor and Provider certification cards valid for 24 months from your expiration date.

We have a lot of instructors that renew so to ensure availability it is strongly recommend to schedule your monitoring near the beginning of the 6 month window.  If you wait until the last minute, it may not be possible to complete the process and renew your certification.
