Course Description: The BLS for Healthcare Providers Course covers core material such as adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag mask), foreign-body airway obstruction, and automated external defibrillation.
Course Designed for: For healthcare providers or those people looking to enter the healthcare profession such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses, and respiratory therapists who must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a CPR course.
Course Length: An initial and renewal certification class lasts approximately 3 hours.
Course Notes: The BLS certification must be renewed every two years by taking a refresher course. This course provides the student with a valid BLS Provider card valid for two years. Cards are provided to the student upon completion of the course.
Course Cost: Initial and Renewal Courses: $59 per student. Payment is required at the time of registration.
Skills Sessions: Heartcode BLS Skills sessions are also available. These short in-person skills practice sessions are for students who have completed the online Heartcode BLS class with the AHA. The online course can be found online at https://elearning.heart.org The cost of the skills session is $39.00.
