Q: Can I enroll in a class on the same day the class will be taught?
A: No problem; as long as the class is still open, you can enroll and pay online. If you are having trouble enrolling online, please contact us and we can look into other arrangements.

Q: What do I need to complete before class?
A: Please read your confirmation email for information about any pre-course study. Our CPR, first aid, and BLS classes do not require any pre-course study however you should go through the attachments in your confirmation email, and if you purchased a book or eBook you can benefit from reading through it. For our ACLS classes, please read your confirmation email as there are quite a few items to complete before class. For all of our classes, please arrive to class about 10 minutes early, wear comfortable clothes, and feel free to bring a snack.

Q: Where are classes held?
A: Our location is 1103 Schrock Road Suite 103, Columbus Ohio 43229. We are easily accessible from I-71, I-270 and Route 315.  Click here for directions.

Q: Do you teach CPR for health care providers?
A: Yes – we teach BLS for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association. This is the class that many healthcare professionals including doctors, dentists, nurses, EMTs, firefighters, and nursing school students need. If you are unsure of which class you need, please consult with your employer or your certification board.

Q: Do you cancel classes due to low enrollment?
A: Never! We will conduct all scheduled classes, even those with just one student attending. NOTE: ACLS courses are exceptions to this policy. We have a minimum enrollment requirement for these classes to proceed.

Q: What does”BLS” mean?
A: Basic Life Support.

Q: What is an AED?
A: AED stands for automatic external defibrillator.

Q: How long will my certification card be valid?
A: Certification cards for all of the classes we teach are valid for two years from the issue date with the exception of the Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) class. Bloodborne pathogen certification is valid for one year after the issue date.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: To provide for the best possible learning environment we do not offer refunds for class fees or course deposits however, we do understand that life happens.  In the event you are unable to attend the class you registered for and notify us at least 24 hour in advance of the class, we will allow you to switch to any other regularly scheduled class within 30 days at no additional charge. Please note that our Instructor classes have a separate cancellation policy.

Q: What training agency does CPR School House teach through?
A: We are a Training Center for the American Heart Association. All of our courses are approved by OSHA for workplace training, as well as by many other organizations nationwide.

Q: I’ve seen online courses in CPR that are more convenient for me. What are the advantages of taking a course in a classroom?
A: While online courses may provide the same basic concepts as an in-class course, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) is a motor skill, not a cognitive skill, that requires practice and repetition in order to learn effective techniques. Also, many employers will not accept online-only training. With CPR School House, much of your class time is spent practicing on mannequins or participating in real life scenarios. Our instructors are there to help you with technique, answer any questions you might have, and most importantly, customize the class to your unique needs. Be aware that many employers will not accept training certifications from online-only course providers. For those students who wish to complete classes in an online format we can offer online training through the American Heart Association with a shorter in-class hands on skills session. This format does earn the same American Heart Association certification as our in class courses. Contact us for more information!

Q: Does CPR School House provide on-site training for the workplace?
A: Yes – we will travel to your workplace for as few as six people. Prices are substantially less (per person) for larger groups. We are happy to customize the training to you needs. Visit our workplace training page or call us for a quote at 614-896-9600

Q: Does CPR School House teach the new protocols?
A: Yes!  CPR School House always stays current with any new training guidelines. We are currently teaching based on the 2020 American Heart Association guidelines. Revised training guidelines will be released again in 2025.
